Everywhere you turn people are selling links for various prices and it’s often hard to tell what others will pay or what you should ask. I’ve found a few online resources which should help you figure out a decent base price for most links, including signature links.

Link Price Calculator from WebConfs.com
This actually is broken, and I mean beyond just the warning label on the page. But go on and try it, you may get a kick out of the answer you get.

Link Value Calculator from CelebrityContest.net
I actually like this one better then the others. It just seems more personable and gives a list of reasons why a link is worth what it is. It takes into account topicality, Alexa Rank, PR, and the amount of clutter you have on the page. It’s a decent resource and a good indicator for your BIN price if you are auctioning off links.

Text link Ads Calculator from Text-Link-Ads.com
This one seems to take the concepts from Celebrity Contest and pushes them to the next level. The results are fairly close to the previous calculator as well. I’d recommend this one if you are planning on selling multiple links on a single page, as it takes those numbers into account.

Signature Calculator by Sig-Link.com
This is pretty dead on if you are an average poster with an average posts per day. If you are a post whore like me then you’ll get a ridiculously high number. It’s certainly good for a laugh though. If you are interested in selling your sig links you may want to check out the rest of the site. The current rate for most sig links seems to average around a penny per post.

Ultimately though if you are selling links, then I’d personally suggest that you look around at the various webmastering forums out there and find the one with the highest goings rates based on supply and demand. On one forum I saw a link go for $10 a month, and on another forum a month later the very same link went for $20. Some days you’ll find simply work better then others, and the trick is to figure out which place is best to sell and when.

Failing that you can head to the main pages of the links I gave above and simply sell out to the man letting them compute all the prices for you while you just place some fancy code on your site and start to collect money...like I do:

Alternatively if you are wanting to buy ads you could take the links above and simply reverse the concepts or simply do it en masse with something like adwords:
